Hoei (法栄)

Hoei was a priest in the Nara period (years of birth and death are unknown).

Summary

In November 752, he presented 優婆塞宗形部岡足. He is said to have been honest and clean, have often looked after patients with diseases, and have been trusted by Emperor Shomu. After the death of Emperor Shomu, he secluded himself from others and continued reading scriptures, taking care of the Emperor's tomb.
